Senior Director, Core Technology Architect

Location: Boston, MA, United States. Hybrid: remote work up to two days per week, or on-site five days per week with ad hoc flexibility.

Salary: $228,000–$342,000 annual base salary, plus annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Define and drive end-to-end solution architecture across Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, enterprise networking, hybrid hosting, end-user computing, collaboration, and ITSM platforms.
• Establish the foundational Core Technology architecture function, including reference architectures, design standards, integration patterns, and governance processes.
• Partner with Information Security to align infrastructure, collaboration, cloud, workplace, and cybersecurity architectures with enterprise risk and compliance requirements.
• Lead architecture strategy for enterprise AI, including Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365, Azure AI, and secure integration across infrastructure layers.
• Guide cross-domain technology decisions, lifecycle management, modernization, vendor alignment, and operational readiness.
• Advise senior leadership and influence technical direction across a federated organization without direct authority.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and workplace technologies.
• Proven solution architecture or enterprise architecture leadership experience across multiple infrastructure domains.
• Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, Copilot, Azure AI, enterprise networking, SD-WAN, ServiceNow, and hybrid hosting.
• Experience with security architecture alignment, including identity, endpoint protection, network security, zero trust, and cloud security.
• Experience in complex global enterprise environments and the ability to lead through influence with strong executive communication.
• Experience in a GxP-regulated biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
