3D Digital Manufacturing Technician (3D Printing)

What you will do

• Prepare and slice CAD models for FDM, SLA, and SLS 3D printing technologies.
• Optimize print orientation, support structures, and process settings for quality, efficiency, and material usage.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to improve printability and reduce post-processing.
• Diagnose print setup and orientation problems, analyze failures, and implement solutions.
• Support printer setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
• Coordinate technical requirements, order updates, and project communications with internal teams and customers.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with slicing and print setup software such as PreForm, Cura, Simplify3D, Magics, or Netfabb.
• Strong understanding of additive manufacturing processes, materials, print orientation, support generation, and print settings.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing concepts for 3D printing.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work on-site in Billerica, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Experience operating industrial or consumer 3D printers.
• Basic proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Onshape.
• Familiarity with Python or other programming and scripting languages for process automation.
