Senior Mechanical Engineer (3D Printing)

What you will do

• Design and architect hardware systems and subsystems for next-generation 3D printers.
• Develop innovative solutions to challenging 3D printing problems.
• Prototype mechanisms, systems, and materials while researching new 3D printing challenges.
• Make key system decisions affecting product performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership, review designs, and guide junior mechanical engineers.
• Collaborate across mechanical, systems, and electrical engineering disciplines, as well as with vendors and suppliers.

Requirements

• Portfolio or work samples are required with the application.
• 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical engineering or related product development.
• Background in electromechanical systems and experience across the full product development cycle.
• Familiarity with thermal systems, optical systems, sensor design, controllers, structures, and algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with part design, material selection, manufacturing techniques, prototyping, and high-volume product manufacturing.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers and lead technical work across disciplines.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of polymers and polymer chemistry.
• Experience with electronics and circuit design.
• Experience with PLM or document control systems.
• Programming skills in Python.
• Industrial design experience.
