Salary: $65,000–$85,000 USD base pay per year for Maryland.

What you will do

  • Assemble and support physical production of mechanical space systems.
  • Design, prototype, produce, test, and improve electro-mechanical space systems, including separation systems.
  • Analyze mechanical systems using classical and computer-based methods.
  • Identify and implement quality, manufacturing, and process improvements.
  • Consult with machinists and vendors to support proper component manufacturing.
  • Inspect machined parts and occasionally meet customers regarding products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, computer, electrical, mechanical, robotics, or systems engineering.
  • Understanding of electrical circuitry.
  • Ability to comply with U.S. government export control laws and obtain the required authorizations.
  • Ability to work onsite with prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Two or more years of aerospace or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience with CNC, turning, wire EDM, or 3D printing.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills and an interest in mechanisms and structures.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
