Senior Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

National Robotics Engineering Center engineers and technicians design, build, and deploy robotic solutions for industrial, commercial, and government applications.

What you will do

• Research, design, develop, and test electromechanical systems for robotic applications.
• Apply the engineering design process from concept development through prototyping and validation.
• Model, analyze, and simulate mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Lead the design of electromechanical subsystems and create CAD models and drawings.
• Fabricate, assemble, and integrate subsystems, then formulate and conduct system tests.
• Document analyses, designs, builds, and test results; support field experiments and off-site test programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience with more than 6 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience developing complex mechanical systems.
• Required 3D modeling experience; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Technical writing, analytical, organizational, planning, project management, and public speaking skills.
• Independent judgment, problem-solving ability, and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external partners.
