Medication Nurse (LPN or RN) (Opioid Addiction Treatment)

Location: Glen Allen, Virginia, USA; onsite at the treatment center. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:00 PM, with a rotating Saturday shift.

Pay: $28–$30 per hour plus a bonus structure.

What you will do

• Administer methadone as prescribed and ensure safe, accurate dosing.
• Screen and assess new and existing patients, observe treatment responses, and support appropriate care decisions.
• Collect and document urine specimens, monitor lab work and physicals, and maintain complete dosing records.
• Manage medical supplies, medication storage, and courtesy or vacation dose packages in accordance with DEA regulations.
• Maintain a respectful, welcoming environment and collaborate with counselors, nurses, and the broader care team.
• Support onboarding, mentoring, regulatory compliance, and ongoing clinical skill development.

Requirements

• Must be licensed as an LPN or RN by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment involving prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and frequent computer use.
• Ability to use appropriate PPE and work with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and patients with substance use or mental health conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience in chemical addiction treatment.
• Knowledge of medication dispensing equipment, centrifuges, physical assessment tools, breathalyzers, and other clinical devices.
• Strong data entry, computer, critical thinking, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with electronic medical records and standard office equipment.
