Operations Program Manager (Hardware Manufacturing)

Location: 35 Medford St., Somerville, Massachusetts, United States; 15% domestic travel required.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Create phase-gate product development processes covering concept, design, verification, pilot, and production ramp.
• Own verification and validation planning, including functional, environmental, reliability, prototyping, testing, and simulation activities.
• Lead operational readiness, production ramp planning, capacity modeling, supplier readiness, and manufacturing network design.
• Perform make-versus-buy analysis, supplier selection and negotiations, lead-time analysis, and supply continuity risk mitigation.
• Build cost, investment, budget, forecast, inventory, and COGS models, including design-to-cost and value-engineering analyses.
• Drive quality, root-cause analysis, CAPA, change control, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in mechanical engineering or hardware product development.
• At least two years of experience managing technically complex hardware or manufacturing product development programs.
• At least two years of experience with program strategy, cost modeling, decision-making, scheduling, risk management, resource planning, and reporting.
• At least two years of experience with manufacturing and operations fundamentals, financial and economic analysis, and long-term investment evaluation.
• Ability to work at the Somerville, Massachusetts location and travel domestically 15% of the time.
