Manufacturing Engineering Intern (3D Printing)

hirify.global designs and builds 3D printing tools and develops manufacturing processes for its products.

What you will do

• Develop test and calibration equipment from fixture design and fabrication through qualification, inventory management, and preventive maintenance planning.
• Project-manage manufacturing builds conducted in-house and at overseas vendors.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing line issues and identify root causes of electromechanical problems.
• Co-develop manufacturing methods, processes, procedures, and work instructions for next-generation products.

Requirements

• Full-time onsite commitment in Somerville, Massachusetts, from January through April or June 2027.
• Portfolio of previous engineering work or projects required.
• Working proficiency with CAD tools such as Onshape, SolidWorks, or Fusion, including 2D drawing creation.
• Experience debugging and testing electromechanical systems and identifying root causes.
• Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, JMP, or Minitab.
• Experience with Python; hands-on, organized, self-motivated, and able to communicate effectively.

Nice to have

• Interest in system-level interactions of complex electromechanical products.
• Understanding of GD&T principles for defining and evaluating part quality.
