Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Robotics)

Location: San Carlos, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $35 per hour. A $2,500 monthly housing stipend is available for relocation.

What you will do

• Develop and document repeatable manufacturing and assembly processes for prototype and pre-production parts.
• Build and improve fixtures, jigs, and workflows to reduce build time, scrap, and rework.
• Own process validation and durability testing while identifying failure modes and driving improvements.
• Create and maintain CAD models and process documentation for reproducible production.
• Partner with design and engineering teams on design-for-manufacturability improvements for future robot revisions.

Requirements

• Currently studying engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience or aptitude in manufacturing or mechanical engineering, including machining, 3D printing, assembly, and post-processing.
• Basic CAD skills with SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar tools.
• Comfort with physical work, setup, assembly, and post-processing.
• Ability to document work clearly and think in terms of repeatability, throughput, and yield.
• Ability to work on-site in San Carlos, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with manufacturing processes, fixturing, robotics, mechatronics, or hardware projects.
• Exposure to design for manufacturability, process validation, or production scale-up.
