Head of IT

Location: Hybrid, two to three days a week at the London Bridge office, United Kingdom, with occasional collaboration across time zones.

What you will do

• Own the worldwide Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, telephony, identity, endpoint, and device management estate.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain a team of six across the UK and South Africa while raising technical standards.
• Replace manual processes with PowerShell, Graph API, Intune, Slack automations, version control, documentation, and logging.
• Deliver software deployment improvements, London office audio-visual upgrades, and asset lifecycle management.
• Manage a multi-million-pound IT budget, supplier performance, procurement negotiations, and major projects including service transitions, tooling rollouts, and disaster recovery.
• Partner with InfoSec on security posture and compliance and represent Corporate IT within technology leadership.

Requirements

• Technical background with hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, and fixing systems.
• Fluency with Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and endpoint management across Windows and macOS.
• Demonstrated use of automation to eliminate manual work and improve service scalability.
• Senior Corporate IT leadership experience in a multi-site or international organisation, including delivered modernisation initiatives.
• Experience supporting a distributed international user base, leading teams, negotiating with vendors, and working with senior leadership.
• Experience managing a substantial IT budget with direct accountability.

Nice to have

• Formal procurement experience and familiarity with ISO 27001, ITIL, or comparable frameworks.
• Experience with M&A integration, complex organisational change, scaled service desks, or Zendesk.
• Microsoft, Cisco, or ITIL qualifications.
• Successful automation, scripting, or tooling projects.
