Location: Ljubljana, Slovenia; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the Ljubljana office

Salary: €45,600–€57,000 gross per year

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and delivers satellite data through a cloud-based platform for commercial, environmental, and humanitarian applications.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain machine learning models and validated markers that extract insights from satellite imagery time series.
  • Take research topics from initial exploration through production implementation.
  • Own marker results for Area Monitoring System deliveries across several EU countries, including execution, review, and quality confirmation.
  • Explore embeddings-based insight extraction and land-cover change detection beyond agricultural compliance use cases.
  • Use AI agents and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and partners to build scalable solutions on the platform.
  • Maintain the shared markers codebase and document research, methods, and deliverables.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, data science, or another STEM field.
  • Knowledge of machine learning principles, model validation, and performance evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience writing maintainable, well-documented code.
  • Experience with AI agents, modern machine learning tools, version control, and Git.
  • Working knowledge of geospatial data and professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • Experience with embeddings or other learned representations of imagery.
  • Remote sensing experience, especially with satellite time series.
  • Experience processing radar data such as Sentinel-1.
  • Knowledge of agriculture, the EU Common Agricultural Policy, or area-based payment schemes.
  • Experience with cloud environments and distributed computing.
