z/OS System Programmer

Location: Remote within the EU; listed location: Las Rozas, Spain

What you will do

• Install, configure, and maintain z/OS and associated software components.
• Execute system builds, migrations, refreshes, CPU swaps, and LPAR build or decommission projects.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support and participate in disaster recovery drills.
• Manage security profiles, access control, and I/O configuration.
• Analyze system performance using SMF data and maintain technical documentation.
• Lead and mentor a remote team distributed across several EU countries.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in z/OS system programming.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS architecture, system commands, utilities, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with system management tools and automation.
• Good level of English.
• Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work remotely within the EU.

Nice to have

• z/OS certification or a related qualification.
• Experience with JES, IMS, or CICS.
• Knowledge of REXX or COBOL.
• Experience with cloud-based mainframe environments.
