Linux System Administrator (Linux)

Location: Hybrid in Lexington, Massachusetts; must live within 100 miles of Lexington and be onsite four days per week, with flexibility for five days as needed. Remote work may be available when business needs allow. Field testing may involve multi-week domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Image, configure, customize, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux, Windows, and Mac systems across desktop, server, mobile, virtual, and field-test environments.
• Support software development teams with development tools, libraries, kernels, hardware drivers, and continuous integration infrastructure.
• Prepare and support field-test deployments, including shipment preparation, onsite networking, testing, and data backup.
• Deploy and maintain enterprise services, servers, networks, storage, virtualization platforms, and backup systems.
• Develop automated methods for configuration management, system health monitoring, and security auditing.
• Analyze infrastructure failures and coordinate troubleshooting and repair of servers, applications, and systems while maintaining Information Assurance compliance.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.
• Onsite attendance in Lexington, Massachusetts, four days per week is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or an equivalent field, plus at least five years of professional enterprise IT experience.
• At least five years of experience with Linux, Windows, Mac, UNIX, Windows Server, Active Directory, LDAP, configuration management, backups, virtualization, and VMware ESXi/vCenter.
• Strong scripting skills in Shell, Perl, Python, and PowerShell, plus experience with enterprise networking, storage, hardware, and system administration.
• Ability to participate in field testing and travel for multi-week assignments when required.

Nice to have

• DIACAP, RMF, DoD STIG, SCAP, PKI, multi-factor authentication, and PIV experience.
• Experience with C, C++, or Java.
• Experience with centralized logging, DNS, DHCP, proxy and load balancing technologies.
• Experience with SAN, iSCSI, VM snapshots, ruggedized hardware, or flight-qualified systems.
