IT Lead Engineer (HPC)

Location: London, with a hybrid working model and office-based collaboration

What you will do

• Own and evolve the HPC environment, including cluster administration, job scheduling with tools such as Slurm, PBS, or LSF, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Administer Entra ID Governance capabilities including Access Reviews, Identity Protection, and Privileged Identity Management.
• Provide hands-on, automation-first IT support and serve as an escalation point for complex HPC, developer tooling, and general IT issues.
• Configure and improve developer tooling such as GitHub Actions, JFrog, and Chainguard.
• Mentor junior IT and support engineers while building reliable technical processes and operational standards.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or HPC support, including 2–3 years in a lead or senior technical role.
• Hands-on experience managing HPC clusters, schedulers, and CPU/GPU workloads, along with strong Linux administration skills.
• Experience supporting Linux, macOS, and Windows environments, developer tooling, CI/CD systems, version control, license management, and internal engineering platforms.
• Experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance implementation, cloud-native environments across multiple cloud vendors, and zero-trust architecture.
• Strong networking and operational skills across routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, VPN, wireless, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, TLS/PKI, and packet-level troubleshooting.
• Strong automation and scripting skills with Python, Bash, and PowerShell, plus infrastructure as code and configuration management.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and building audiovisual systems from scratch.
• Experience with Vanta, Drata, security tooling, or security teams.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, SC-300, MS-102, RHCE, or Jamf certifications.
