Enterprise Infrastructure Lead (Unisys Mainframe)

Location: London, UK; hybrid working with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at the London office

Salary: £107,304–£126,240 per year

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for Unisys mainframe infrastructure and runtime services.
• Own the technical integrity, availability, resilience, recoverability, and security of the platforms.
• Oversee production performance, operational risks, vulnerabilities, capacity, software currency, hardware lifecycle, and technical debt.
• Lead hardware refreshes, software upgrades, resilience improvements, security remediation, service transitions, and platform decommissioning.
• Act as a senior escalation point during major incidents and drive root-cause analysis and preventative improvements.
• Manage strategic technology suppliers while driving automation, operational simplification, coaching, and succession planning.

Requirements

• Experience leading infrastructure, platform, or service-delivery teams responsible for mainframe environments.
• Experience developing specialist engineering teams and creating succession and skills-transition plans.
• Experience with major incident recovery, root-cause investigation, problem management, and preventative improvement.
• Experience operating mission-critical, highly available platforms in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience owning platform strategy, lifecycle management, technical roadmaps, and supplier commitments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unisys ClearPath environments.
• Experience with hardware refreshes, operating-system upgrades, platform migrations, or data-centre change.
• Experience with disaster recovery, cyber recovery, resilience testing, and recovery assurance.
• Experience supporting core banking, mortgages, payments, or other high-volume transactional services.
• Experience with automation, monitoring, and observability in enterprise mainframe environments.
