Senior Quality Engineer (QA Automation)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work with an expectation to be in the office at least 50% of the time.

Base salary: €60,000–€100,000 per year, plus potential performance-based rewards and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the automation strategy within a product engineering team and contribute hands-on to QA initiatives.
• Design, develop, maintain, and improve scalable automated testing frameworks and suites across multiple product lines.
• Automate testing across UI, API, integration, database, regression, compatibility, end-to-end, performance, and other non-functional layers.
• Identify, report, troubleshoot, and validate defects in collaboration with software development teams.
• Integrate test automation tools, build verification systems, IDE plugins, and linting programs to improve testing efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with QA, software engineering, DevOps, and cloud teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• Senior-level hands-on experience with test automation, continuous testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience standardizing QA processes, methodologies, and best practices across Agile teams.
• Strong knowledge of automation frameworks and automated testing across front-end, back-end, REST APIs, and databases.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, REST Assured with Java, Postman or Bruno, and Enterprise Java technologies.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and working knowledge of performance and load testing concepts, including K6, JMeter, or similar tools.
• English CV required; the role is based in Madrid with office attendance expected at least 50% of the time.

Nice to have

• Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Bruno, or Sitespeed experience.
• Experience testing cloud-native applications on Azure and Kubernetes, including AKS.
• Experience with Grafana, Azure Monitor, or other monitoring platforms.
• Insurance, reinsurance, or financial services domain experience.
