iGaming Platform Quality Engineer (Contract)

Location: Fully remote, with occasional travel required to the headquarters in Málaga, Spain

Builds backend platforms and services that power iGaming products and connect games with operators, aggregators, suppliers, and other external partners.

What you will do

• Own test strategy and quality assurance for backend platform services, common iGaming capabilities, and operator, aggregator, and supplier integrations.
• Design and execute API, integration, end-to-end, regression, contract, exploratory, and risk-based testing.
• Validate game launches, player sessions, authentication, wallet interactions, bet/win transactions, refunds, rollbacks, configuration, currencies, languages, and jurisdiction-specific behavior.
• Build and maintain automated API and integration regression suites with Playwright and integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
• Test resilience, scalability, data integrity, transactional consistency, observability, and recovery across distributed services.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, compliance, operators, and external suppliers to investigate and resolve integration and production issues.

Requirements

• Experience with test strategy, risk-based testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, defect lifecycle management, root-cause analysis, and shift-left quality practices.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, API contracts, authentication, API testing, integration testing, and contract testing.
• Experience with Playwright, API automation, automated regression, test data management, mocking, and service virtualization.
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, databases, messaging or event-driven systems, logging, monitoring, and observability.
• Knowledge of iGaming platform concepts, including game lifecycles, player sessions, wallets, bet/win transactions, operator integrations, aggregators, suppliers, and regulatory considerations.
• Must operate through a fully registered limited company.

Nice to have

• Experience with regulated iGaming, payments, fintech, or other high-transaction environments.
• Experience with performance or load testing, cloud platforms such as AWS, event-driven architectures, queues, and messaging platforms.
• Scripting or development experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or a similar language.
• Experience applying AI tools to quality engineering and test automation.
