Virtualization & Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure Local/Hyper-V)

Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, United States; regular in-office work is required.

Salary: $149,100–$213,000 USD annually for the Bay Area, California, with additional incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain virtualized infrastructure using Hyper-V and Azure Local.
• Manage Windows Server environments, SQL Server databases, enterprise file-sharing services, and SUSE Linux systems.
• Develop PowerShell and Bash automation for provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Deploy and maintain infrastructure monitoring solutions and proactively resolve performance issues.
• Administer Windows SCCM for software deployment, patch management, inventory, and reporting.
• Architect scalable and secure infrastructure solutions with IT teams and provide advanced troubleshooting support.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with virtualization and cloud platforms, particularly Azure Local and Hyper-V.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong Windows Server administration skills and hands-on experience with SQL Server and file-sharing solutions.
• Experience administering SUSE Linux in hybrid environments.
• Expert scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Experience with monitoring tools, Windows SCCM, infrastructure troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure, MCSE, or Linux certifications.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and migrations.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
