Manufacturing Associate (mRNA Vaccines)

Location: Melbourne, Australia; 100% onsite. This is a rotating-shift role in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including afternoon and night shifts, weekends, public holidays, overtime, and changing roster patterns.

What you will do

• Execute mRNA vaccine manufacturing operations across formulation, production, packaging, and final product release activities.
• Operate sophisticated automated production equipment in accordance with cGMP, SOPs, and approved manufacturing documentation.
• Troubleshoot routine equipment, process, and digital issues and perform basic equipment maintenance.
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, CAPA activities, and continuous improvement projects.
• Partner with Quality Assurance and cross-functional teams to support batch documentation and timely commercial batch disposition.
• Maintain accurate training and manufacturing records while meeting safety, compliance, and operational KPI requirements.

Requirements

• Degree or qualification in science, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, beverage, medical device, or another regulated environment.
• Strong willingness to learn multiple manufacturing processes and work across different operational activities.
• Strong problem-solving, attention-to-detail, written, verbal, organisational, and collaboration skills.
• Confidence working with technology and digital systems in a highly automated environment.
• Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment, including afternoon and night shifts, weekends, public holidays, overtime, and changing roster patterns.

Nice to have

• Exposure to GMP environments through industry experience, internships, placements, or graduate employment.
• Experience preparing for audits or inspections and understanding of health authority and regulatory guidelines.
• Aseptic experience, visual inspection experience, or PFS knowledge.
