Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Natchez, Mississippi, United States. Remote-field role performed from home with a mobile office/vehicle and required in-person appointments throughout the assigned territory. Occasional travel to other territories, flexible schedules, overtime, and irregular hours may be required.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess damage for residential, commercial, and large-loss property claims.
• Investigate and adjust claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Gather evidence, document findings, prepare detailed reports, and estimate damages.
• Evaluate coverage and policy terms, apply regulations, and negotiate settlements within authorized limits.
• Work with policyholders, agents, and other parties to resolve claims and provide customer service.

Requirements

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for field and remote claims documentation.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and crawl through tight spaces.
• Valid driver's license required; required training, licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, and background checks must be completed.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of property insurance, residential and commercial construction, water mitigation, and inspection processes.
• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
• Customer service experience.
