Salary: $228,000–$358,000 USD base salary annually, with bonus potential and early-stage equity.

What you will do

• Encode mechanistic biological reasoning into structured systems, workflows, and evaluations.
• Analyze single-cell, perturbation, proteomics, imaging, and genetic data through reproducible pipelines.
• Design experimental campaigns that generate evidence for model grounding and outcome-verified cases.
• Build benchmarks, retrodiction sets, and evidence standards that distinguish direct from inferred evidence.
• Co-design evaluations with ML researchers, engineers, and experimental scientists to measure decision quality and uncertainty.
• Publish and present results, including limitations and findings that do not support the expected conclusion.

Requirements

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Genomics, Biostatistics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field focused on biological data.
• Fluent Python and substantial experience analyzing high-dimensional biological data in reproducible, version-controlled pipelines.
• Strong mechanistic biology skills, including pathway, drug mechanism, assay, and evidence interpretation.
• Ability to assess whether data support a claim and convert that judgment into reproducible structures, schemas, or evaluations.
• Clear communication of methods, assumptions, results, and limitations to technical and interdisciplinary audiences.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with perturbation screens, single-cell omics, imaging-based proteomics, or functional genomics.
• Experience in immune cell biology, cell therapy, or targeted delivery.
• Experience with lab-in-the-loop workflows, active learning, or experiment selection.
• Experience evaluating language models or agents on scientific judgment tasks.
• Experience with structured evidence frameworks, curated resources, or controlled vocabularies.
