Senior Data Scientist (AI): Developing and deploying hybrid AI models for insurance risk intelligence by combining deep learning, large language models, and traditional data science techniques with an accent on predictive modeling, unstructured data, and scalable production systems. Location: Remote within the United States; hybrid work is available for candidates local to Boston.
Salary: $135,000–$165,000 base salary annually, plus an annual performance bonus, equity grant, and benefits.

What you will do
- Develop, prototype, validate, deploy, and optimize predictive models for insurance products.
- Combine deep learning, large language models, and traditional techniques such as GLMs, XGBoost, and Transformers.
- Work with big data, federated learning, unstructured data, time-series data, and sequence models.
- Own well-scoped models end-to-end and deliver measurable improvements to production AI capabilities.
- Collaborate with data science, product, engineering, and leadership partners.
- Communicate analytical findings clearly to customers, stakeholders, and prospects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field with 3–5 years of professional data science experience, or a Master’s/Ph.D. with 1–2 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow and modern AI architectures including Transformers, neural networks, and LLMs.
- Advanced Python skills and experience with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, LightGBM, or similar data science tools.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Databricks.
- Experience taking models from notebooks to production, including experiment tracking, packaging, Docker, model serving, APIs, CI/CD, and pipeline orchestration.
- Strong technical communication, collaboration, initiative, and project ownership skills.
Nice to have
- Actuarial methods and experience working with actuaries.
- Experience with healthcare or medical data.
- Knowledge of insurance underwriting, claims, long-tailed events, or rare-event prediction.
- Open-source contributions, reusable packages, or internal frameworks.
