Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Fully remote, with hybrid work available for candidates local to Boston

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 base salary annually, plus annual performance bonus, equity grant, and benefits

What you will do

• Advance core AI models and own well-scoped models end to end.
• Build hybrid models using deep learning, large language models, and traditional data science techniques.
• Prototype, validate, deploy, and commercialize models that deliver measurable improvements.
• Work with big data, federated learning, unstructured data, time-series and sequence modeling.
• Translate complex analytical results into clear business messages for customers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data science, product, engineering, and leadership partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field with 3–5 years of professional data science experience, or a master’s/Ph.D. with 1–2 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow and modern AI architectures including Transformers, neural networks, and LLMs.
• Advanced Python skills and experience with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, LightGBM, or similar tools.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Databricks.
• Experience taking models from notebooks to production, including experiment tracking, packaging, Docker, model serving, APIs, CI/CD, and pipeline orchestration.
• Strong technical communication and collaboration skills in agile squads and data science leadership settings.

Nice to have

• Experience with actuarial methods and collaboration with actuaries.
• Familiarity with healthcare and medical data.
• Experience with underwriting, claims, long-tailed events, or rare-event prediction.
