Principal Software Engineer

Location: Remote role associated with Seattle, United States; hiring is available in countries where hirify.global has a legal entity.

Salary: $174,051–$227,233, $188,730–$246,398, or $209,700–$273,775 annual base pay depending on the United States geographic pay zone.

What you will do

• Lead the technical design and launch of the team's largest and most complex projects.
• Provide technical leadership and define plans for high-impact, multi-project initiatives.
• Solve complex architecture challenges and apply architectural standards to new projects.
• Raise engineering standards across hirify.global and promote strong engineering practices.
• Partner with other Engineering teams on company-wide initiatives.
• Mentor technical leaders and share expertise to improve engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 10+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Professional experience with one or more of Java, Scala, Node, JavaScript, or React.
• Deep systems engineering experience at scale, including testing, reliability, security, and observability.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating with and mentoring junior team members, considering customer impact, and using A/B testing techniques.
