Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Salary: $175,000–$220,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex, scalable full-stack systems for the Growth Engineering domain.
• Design and build AI-first, user-facing product capabilities, including reliable LLM-powered features.
• Develop and maintain serverless applications and services with React, TypeScript, Postgres, and AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and S3.
• Champion AI-native engineering practices by integrating Claude Code, Codex, and other LLM tools into development workflows.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and data teams to define the technical roadmap and deliver growth-focused features.
• Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, resolve high-priority production issues, and maintain quality, observability, and reliability standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong full-stack and distributed-systems expertise.
• Hands-on experience building AI-first user-facing features and using LLM-powered coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, Postgres, and AWS, with strong proficiency in React.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability, performance optimization, debugging, and reliable production delivery.
• Exceptional communication, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with growth engineering projects or A/B testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with RAG, evaluations, prompt engineering, or agentic frameworks.
• Knowledge of front-end performance optimization techniques.
• Open-source contribution experience.
• Experience with Jest, Cypress, or React Testing Library.
