Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $100,000–$135,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Design and build reliable full-stack features across frontend applications, backend services, and APIs.
• Develop polished user interfaces with strong attention to UI, UX, performance, and client needs.
• Own work throughout sprint planning, ticket refinement, implementation, peer review, and demonstrations.
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs, connect engineering decisions to business value, and contribute ideas for AI-powered client features.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA to deliver usable software.
• Participate in code reviews and share technical knowledge with the engineering team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of full-stack JavaScript and TypeScript development on production systems.
• Strong React experience, including component architecture, state management, and performance optimization.
• Backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including production APIs and services.
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, CI/CD, and AWS or a comparable cloud environment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Daily use of AI coding assistants such as Copilot, Cursor, or Claude is required. Applicants must already have US employment authorization and must not require current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI-powered product features, including LLM integrations, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted UX.
• Mobile development experience.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Background in nonprofit or social-impact technology.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
