Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack (Java/React)

Location: Remote across the United States

Salary: $135,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Modernize and maintain legacy Java applications, including JSP-templated monolithic systems.
• Own backend engineering contributions and resolve complex application and integration issues.
• Discover requirements from stakeholders, partners, and existing code when documentation is limited.
• Reduce technical debt, improve system reliability, and support delivery commitments.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate technical developments with clients and partners.
• Present design documents and system diagrams and participate in technical interviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of engineering experience; relevant experience may substitute for education.
• Expert-level hands-on experience with Java backend engineering.
• Experience independently deciphering complex legacy systems, including JSP-templated monoliths.
• Ability to define requirements and solve undocumented problems with limited guidance.
• Ability to work remotely across the United States.

Nice to have

• Frontend development experience with React and JavaScript.
