Network Engineer

Location: Onsite in Rockville, Maryland, United States; work onsite during the workweek.

Salary: USD $83,368–$118,800 annually, plus a target annual bonus that varies by role level.

What you will do

• Support enterprise network infrastructure through break/fix work, routine installations, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with routing, switching, IOS patch management, VLANs, wireless configuration, and limited F5 load-balancer tasks.
• Monitor network health, availability, capacity, and performance, escalating issues when appropriate.
• Maintain network documentation according to organizational procedures and contribute to design improvements.
• Coordinate with vendors and infrastructure teams on projects, equipment evaluations, and service-level objectives.
• Participate in disaster recovery exercises, on-call support, and occasional weekend or off-hours maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Three years of experience in network support, administration, or related IT functions.
• Active CCNA certification and experience with Cisco networking technologies; knowledge of Cisco and/or Juniper platforms.
• Knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, network segmentation, firewall concepts, VPNs, IPSEC, 802.1x, and RADIUS.
• Basic exposure to F5 load balancers, Wi-Fi technologies, wireless troubleshooting, and network monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
