Location: Washington, DC — hybrid; remote work is authorized, but on-site presence at customer facilities in Washington, DC and, as needed, data-center facilities in Ashburn, VA and Manassas, VA may be required based on task assignment. Core hours are 9:00 AM–6:00 PM ET, Monday–Friday. Occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance may be required.
Salary: $115,000–$142,000 annually. A separate salary range of $92,000–$110,000 is also listed.

What you will do
- Design, implement, operate, and optimize Cisco network architectures across core, distribution, access, and edge layers.
- Advise stakeholders and collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, and operations teams to resolve complex network issues.
- Implement Zero Trust principles, including segmentation, micro-segmentation, least-privilege access, identity-aware access, and 802.1X integration.
- Lead security assessments, audits, compliance reviews, evidence preparation, and remediation activities.
- Manage monitoring, logging, alerting, SIEM/NDR integrations, vulnerability management, patching, and device lifecycle programs.
- Maintain secure configuration baselines, network SOPs, diagrams, change-control documentation, incident root-cause analyses, and enterprise DNS.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8–10 years of enterprise network engineering experience, including senior or lead responsibilities.
- Deep expertise in Cisco routing, switching, network security, Zero Trust, NIST SP 800-207, NIST SP 800-53, and 802.1X/NAC.
- Active Cisco CCNP or equivalent demonstrable expertise and CompTIA Security+ or higher.
- Ability to advise senior stakeholders and lead security assessments and audits.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residence is required; ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Tier 2 suitability, including FBI background screening and U.S. Capitol Police fingerprinting, is required.
Nice to have
- CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or CCIE Security.
- Experience with Cisco ISE, TrustSec, MACsec, and Catalyst 9300 StackWise architectures.
- Experience with Check Point or Palo Alto firewalls, NDR, and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Experience leading network modernization and Zero Trust implementations in federal environments.
- Experience supporting Congressional or legislative branch agencies.
