Instrumentation Technician (Various Shifts: Days, Swing, Grave) (Biotech)

Location: Thousand Oaks, California, United States; onsite work with day, swing, grave, weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts as needed.

What you will do

• Perform scheduled calibration, corrective maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of instruments and equipment used in process control and building systems.
• Maintain equipment and systems while minimizing disruption to manufacturing operations.
• Complete quality, safety, work order, and maintenance documentation in accordance with GMPs, SOPs, and company policies.
• Communicate work status with system operators, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Identify waste and workflow interruptions, recommend improvements, and support implementation.
• Provide facility and manufacturing support, including participation in rotating shifts and on-call coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED plus one year of maintenance, operations, manufacturing, or military experience, or an associate degree.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation, operating manuals, engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical diagrams.
• Ability to work independently, communicate task status, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Availability for varied schedules, including 5x8-hour, 4x10-hour, and 3- or 4x12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.

Nice to have

• Experience with instrumentation, calibration, and metrology programs.
• Mechanical maintenance experience with sanitary processing equipment and systems.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Experience in a cGMP-regulated environment and with computerized maintenance management systems.
• Technical school training and strong computer, communication, and technical guidance skills.
