Building Engineer (HVAC)

Location: St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. This position is 100% in-office; remote work and telecommuting are not available.

What you will do

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
• Respond to tenant service requests, including temperature issues, plumbing problems, lighting repairs, emergencies, and system outages.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions, replace filters and light fixtures, and escalate complex issues to senior engineers.
• Maintain inspection and equipment-performance records and identify property deficiencies.
• Assist with contractor oversight and collaborate with tenants, property managers, technicians, and senior engineers.
• Participate in on-call rotations, severe-weather recovery, safety audits, and professional development activities.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of related experience or equivalent certification or trade experience.
• Required engineering or trade licenses in accordance with applicable local, state, or national requirements.
• Working familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, with developing experience in building automation system operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop or phone applications used for work orders, email, and training.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
