Building Engineer/Senior Building Engineer (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; onsite work inside and outside the property

What you will do

• Monitor building systems and performance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, carpentry, painting, and roofing.
• Perform emergency, preventive, and corrective maintenance and maintain repair records.
• Review work orders, estimate materials and labor, and order required supplies.
• Oversee outside contractors performing landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning work.
• Manage energy-efficiency measures and maintain building lighting systems.
• Respond to emergency situations and complete additional engineering and maintenance duties.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance and operations.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic control systems, EMS, and other mechanical building systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, electronic work-order, and preventive-maintenance systems.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license required.

Nice to have

• Refrigeration or electrical license.
