Building Engineer

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; onsite property operations

Salary: $60,000–$71,000 per year; 3% bonus pool

What you will do

• Maintain and operate commercial building equipment and systems according to property service standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Inspect and adjust pumps, chillers, boilers, air compressors, air handling units, HVAC controls, fire alarms, and life safety systems.
• Respond to property work orders and inquiries while supporting a professional client experience.
• Maintain central plant, chemical consumption, equipment inspection, and operating records.
• Follow emergency procedures, safety requirements, environmental regulations, and required training programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of commercial HVAC or related experience.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, hand tools, power tools, equipment manuals, and basic mathematical calculations for building operations.
• Ability to work approximately 80% indoors and 20% outdoors, stand for at least 8 hours, and lift or carry objects over 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, including on 5–16 foot ladders, while following OSHA guidelines.
• Ability to meet assigned shifts, which may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Nice to have

• Boiler operating permit, state maintenance electrician license, EPA CFC Universal Certification, or other applicable government licenses.
• Required permits or licenses may be obtained within six months of hire or eligibility.
