Explosive Operator

Location: Onsite in Parsons, Kansas, United States

Salary: $23.58 per hour

Day & Zimmermann provides the onsite team for explosives production operations.

What you will do

• Operate computer controls, loss-in-weight feeders, thermocouple thermometers, and 5-, 50-, and 250-gallon kettles.
• Activate and monitor Explosive Melt System equipment for different types of explosives.
• Ensure explosives are prepared for each pour at the beginning and end of the workday.
• Perform pre- and post-system checks, follow approved operating procedures, and complete required cleanup.
• Work safely in demanding environments while wearing required protective equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience operating and monitoring production equipment.
• Safety awareness, decision-making, mathematical, communication, and computer skills.
• Ability to perform the required physical and mental tasks, including lifting over 15 pounds, climbing, repetitive movement, and sustained concentration.
• Ability to work regularly at the company office or worksite and withstand heat, cold, fumes, odors, gases, and extreme noise.
