Aircraft Maintenance Technician Lead (Aerospace)

Location: Charleston International Airport, Charleston, United States. This is an onsite, full-time role requiring flexibility for day, night, weekend, holiday, and overtime shifts, plus approximately 20% travel.

Salary: Up to $39.00 per hour, plus a $2.00 shift differential for work between 9:00 PM and 7:30 AM.

What you will do

• Assign, lead, direct, and approve work performed by Aircraft Maintenance Technicians under supervision.
• Perform and oversee commercial aircraft maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations, the General Maintenance Manual, and company procedures.
• Coordinate aircraft status with Maintenance Operations Control and notify maintenance leadership of airworthiness concerns.
• Complete maintenance forms, documentation, open-discrepancy records, corrective actions, and OJT task cards accurately and on time.
• Handle aircraft parts, assemblies, tooling, and equipment while maintaining a safe, clean, and operational work area.
• Support performance standards and company values focused on safety, integrity, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current, valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License or Repairman Certificate required, with no history of infractions.
• At least 5 years of aviation maintenance experience on commercial aircraft required.
• Authorization to work in the United States and a valid passport with no travel restrictions required.
• Ability to interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications, communicate in English, and work effectively across departments.
• DOT drug testing, TSA fingerprint-based criminal history screening, Breeze background screening, and SIDA badge eligibility are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of FAA regulations and FAR Part 121 operations.
• Experience with Airbus A220 and Embraer E-Jet aircraft families.
• Experience with airline Maintenance Information Systems such as TRAX.
• Degree in aerospace, aviation maintenance, or business.
• Microsoft Office, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
