Shipping Supervisor (Manufacturing)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States; on-site shipping and warehouse operations

Salary: $70,400–$105,600 per year

A Fortune 500 packaging manufacturer producing corrugated packaging and white paper products across more than 100 locations in the United States.

What you will do

• Manage outbound shipments, customer order schedules, truck and rail car loading, and shipment status updates.
• Oversee inbound material inspection, unloading, storage, warehouse operations, and equipment performance.
• Schedule work, coordinate production activities, supervise employees, approve time records, and implement company policies.
• Train employees on equipment, production standards, safety procedures, protocols, and waste control.
• Manage inventory, investigate shipping-related customer complaints, and provide updates in production meetings.
• Analyze department performance and implement process, equipment, safety, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least four years of experience working in a shipping department.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, mechanical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of departmental machinery, methods, procedures, manufacturing systems, shop-floor software, safety, and continual-improvement processes.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Some college education or manufacturing training.
• Experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment.
• Supervisory experience in employee training, team building, performance development, and conflict resolution.
