Financial Officer - Intern

Location: Onsite positions available in multiple Iowa locations, including Manchester, Carroll, Oskaloosa, Harlan, Webster City, DeWitt, Emmetsburg, Perry, Mason City, Marshalltown, Red Oak, Sioux City, Storm Lake, Decorah, Hiawatha, Sheldon, and Mount Pleasant. Travel to Omaha, Nebraska is required three times during the internship.

Salary: $20 per hour. Qualified interns may also receive a $500 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Learn office procedures and assist with promotional and public activities.
• Input and analyze customers’ annual financial information.
• Conduct credit verifications with references and other lenders.
• Observe marketing, sales, prospecting, loan application, renewal, and loan-closing activities.
• Gain exposure to legal requirements and real estate and chattel appraisal procedures.
• Complete assigned special projects and support their delivery.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in agricultural business, accounting, finance, agricultural economics, animal science, or a similar field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interest in agricultural finance, lending, and credit.
• Availability for a 12-week summer internship and travel to Omaha three times during the internship.
