Senior Security Engineer (Cloud and Container Security)

Location: Remote within the United States; Atlanta, Georgia preferred

Salary: $160,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for cloud, container, and edge protection programs.
• Manage WAF, CDN, DDoS mitigation, bot protection, monitoring, and alerting capabilities.
• Secure container images and build automated gates that prevent vulnerable or non-compliant images from reaching production.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, infrastructure-as-code, and runtime environments.
• Perform architecture reviews, threat modeling, risk assessments, and cloud-focused incident response support.
• Develop remediation tooling, track DevSecOps KPIs, and mentor security engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Security Engineering, or a similar role.
• End-to-end ownership of security programs or initiatives, including roadmap development and cross-functional influence.
• Expertise with GCP, AWS, or Azure and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS.
• Experience with cloud and container security tooling, WAFs, bot mitigation, API gateways, and CDN security.
• Experience with secure architecture reviews, Terraform or comparable IaC tools, and integrating security scanners into pipelines.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, or Crossplane.
• Experience with CrowdStrike and cloud networking, including VPCs, load balancing, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database management.
• Relevant Kubernetes, cloud security, or DevOps certifications.
