Cloud Security Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles, California, United States; 3 days per week in the office. Remote work is not available.

Salary: USD 150,000–160,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Design and operate security posture, IAM, encryption, network segmentation, and secure-by-default controls across AWS commercial and GovCloud environments.
• Hunt for anomalous and adversarial behavior across cloud, application, and identity telemetry, and build detection-as-code coverage.
• Administer centralized logging, SIEM, monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and security reporting.
• Implement and improve CSPM, vulnerability management, secrets management, endpoint and workload protection, and AWS security services.
• Secure GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, containers, Kubernetes workloads, and software development processes.
• Support compliance controls, incident response, investigation, containment, and post-incident hardening for regulated environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, cloud security, or DevSecOps with production ownership of security controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep AWS security experience with IAM, KMS, VPC and network security, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, Config, and WAF, including commercial and GovCloud environments.
• Experience with threat detection, threat hunting, threat intelligence, centralized logging, SIEM, security reporting, and detection engineering.
• Experience securing CI/CD, GitHub Actions, SAST/DAST/SCA, secrets, containers, and Kubernetes workloads.
• Proficiency with Terraform, containerization, scalable security controls, technical communication, and autonomous work.

Nice to have

• AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, OSCP, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, or similar certification.
• Experience with DuploCloud, SOC 2, FedRAMP, ITAR, CMMC, or other regulated deployments.
• Security experience in PLM, PDM, hardware, or manufacturing software.
• Incident response, digital forensics, purple-team, observability, PostgreSQL, or Kubernetes operations experience.
