Cloud Security Engineer II (AWS)

Location: Needham, Massachusetts, or remote within the United States

Salary: $135,000–$155,000 annually, plus annual bonuses

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and enforce scalable security guardrails, least-privilege IAM policies, and encryption standards across multi-account AWS environments.
• Embed IaC scanning, SAST, secret detection, and other automated security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
• Build detection and remediation workflows using Python, Bash, or Go with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Secure containerized workloads, Kubernetes/EKS environments, and serverless architectures.
• Manage CSPM/CNAPP platforms, investigate high-priority alerts, and improve risk scoring and alert tuning.
• Conduct threat modeling, architectural reviews, incident escalation, forensic collection, root-cause analysis, and post-mortem actions.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cloud security, DevSecOps, or infrastructure security engineering.
• Deep knowledge of AWS security services, including IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, KMS, CloudTrail, and Organizations.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably with Terraform, plus proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Practical experience securing Kubernetes/EKS and configuring CI/CD security scanners such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Understanding of cloud networking, identity management, CIS Benchmarks, NIST CSF, and SOC 2.
• Must be based in the United States for the remote option, or work from the Needham, Massachusetts location.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist, CCSP, or equivalent certification.
