Facility Engineer Co-Op

Location: Austin, TX; assignment site: Burnet, TX. Onsite, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., from January through June 2027.

Compensation: $20-$30 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, process exhaust, and building systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment and utility issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
• Support capital and facility improvement projects, including documentation, contractor coordination, progress tracking, and commissioning.
• Analyze and report utility and equipment performance data using Excel, Power BI, and other analytical tools.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and Engineering teams while maintaining environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a university co-op program and pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, industrial, facilities engineering, or a related discipline.
• Preferred graduation date: December 2027 through May 2029; minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with engineering documentation and technical drawings.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Must be available for the full-time January-June co-op assignment and meet university co-op participation requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD, Power BI, CMMS systems, or engineering project work.
