Facilities Engineer (2027 New College Graduate)

Location: USA - Vermont - Essex Junction; onsite industrial manufacturing environment

Expected salary: $58,400–$100,800 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Support the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of facility utility systems and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system performance issues using engineering fundamentals, operating data, and visualization tools.
• Monitor capacity, reliability, operating parameters, and process trends to identify improvement opportunities and potential risks.
• Participate in root cause investigations, corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, and system optimization studies.
• Support equipment upgrades, capital projects, installations, commissioning, capacity planning, and infrastructure planning.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, facilities operations, maintenance, Environmental, Health and Safety, vendors, and contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in an accredited engineering program, such as chemical, mechanical, environmental, civil, electrical, or industrial engineering.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience, including internships, co-op programs, research projects, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn complex technical systems, work effectively in a team, and support continuous manufacturing operations during occasional off-hours.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment, access equipment and utility areas, lift up to 20 pounds, and wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators when necessary.

Nice to have

• Exposure to industrial utility systems, process equipment, HVAC, water treatment, chemical processes, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience with Excel, Power BI, PI, or similar data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with process flow diagrams, P&IDs, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Basic knowledge of project management practices and an interest in semiconductor manufacturing and facilities engineering.
