Senior Software Engineer, Compute Infrastructure

Salary: $164,200–$205,200 USD per year, plus potential annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and build the next generation of the Serverless platform for high availability, low latency, and efficient scale-to-zero operation.
• Build a unified compute stack for heterogeneous workloads, including GPU qualification for AI training and stateful execution for Lakebase.
• Develop platform abstractions that run consistently across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Optimize the infrastructure stack from the API gateway through host networking and container orchestration.
• Build infrastructure as a product and solve distributed-systems challenges involving startup speed, security isolation, and large-scale orchestration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production-level experience with Python, Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language.
• 4+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or MicroVM technologies such as Firecracker.
• Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP internals.
• Ability to build infrastructure tools from the ground up when existing solutions do not meet the required scale.
