Automotive Lead Technician

Location: Two Notch, United States; onsite retail automotive service role. Employment requires completion of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, and temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.

Salary: $21.69–$40.92 per hour through a performance-based flat-rate compensation model.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, computer, and other automotive systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without mechanical expertise.
• Lead, assist, and train technicians in technical service activities.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least five A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing brakes, alignment, steering, suspension, general automotive systems, and tires.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.
• Five years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills through third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program is preferred.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, engine repair and performance, automatic or manual transmissions, and automotive heating and air conditioning.
• ASE certification in at least three A1–A8 areas, with brakes and steering and suspension certifications preferred.
