TL;DR
Quality Engineer (Aerospace): Deploying the Quality Management System for the Flexrotor tactical unmanned aerial system program in a mature production environment with an accent on defect analysis, performance metrics, compliance, and root cause and corrective action. Focus on building quality processes, leading practical problem-solving, supporting audits, and improving production standards under FAA and AS9100 requirements.

Location: Bingen, Washington, United States; 90% onsite, with travel as required

Salary: $102,000–$163,000 per year, plus potential incentive compensation and bonus

hirify.global develops aerospace and defense systems, including the Flexrotor small tactical unmanned aerial system for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance missions.

What you will do

  • Define and deploy Quality Management System processes during the Flexrotor program ramp-up.
  • Analyze nonconformities, quality metrics, dashboards, and performance trends to identify deficiencies and prevent recurrence.
  • Lead practical problem-solving, root cause and corrective action, and continuous improvement activities using lean, PDCA, and related methods.
  • Support inspection personnel, nonconformity management, inspection plans, testing processes, and quality implementation issues.
  • Prepare performance reports, update quality manuals and procedures, and support internal audits and external audit readiness.
  • Act as the quality interface for system, product, and design defects, including creating CAD drawings for corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of technical engineering or direct quality experience in a mature production environment.
  • Experience using or building operational quality processes.
  • Knowledge of Costpoint and TIPQA or similar quality systems.
  • Must be a US Person under ITAR regulations and have current US work authorization.
  • Working knowledge of FAA and AS9100 quality standards; ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10%.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, industrial, or quality engineering.
  • Six Sigma certification, AS9100 Auditor certification, or ASQ Quality Engineer certification.
  • Valid FAA A&P certificate or project management professional qualification.
