TL;DR
Supplier Quality Engineer (Aerospace): Managing supplier assessments, audits, non-conformances, and quality improvement for aerospace parts with an accent on AS9100 compliance, CAPA, root cause analysis, and defect prevention. Focus on reviewing PPAP and supplier quality documentation, supporting new product introductions, analyzing supplier performance, and driving zero-defect initiatives across a regulated supply base.

Location: Torrance, California, United States; hybrid and on-site position with 25% travel

Salary: $80,000–$125,000 annually

hirify.global's Military Aircraft Group develops aerospace systems and works with external supply chain partners to deliver high-quality, reliable parts.

What you will do

  • Conduct supplier assessments and audits to evaluate quality systems and capabilities.
  • Manage supplier non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review and approve PPAP submissions, control plans, FMEAs, and other supplier documentation.
  • Monitor supplier performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement improvement plans.
  • Support new product introductions and transitions into production with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Represent hirify.global in supplier meetings and negotiations while driving zero-defect and process-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related subject.
  • At least 2 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or a related quality assurance role in aerospace or another regulated industry.
  • Experience with quality tools and methodologies including 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, control plans, PPAP, MSA, SPC, APQP, and AS9100.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, aerospace standards, root cause analysis, CAPA, GD&T, and inspection methods.
  • Strong communication, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to travel 25%.

Nice to have

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, ERP/MRP systems, or statistical analysis software such as Minitab.
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Experience with DFMA, PFMEA, capability analysis, error proofing, APQP, PPAP, and new product introduction.
  • Knowledge of AS13000 series, AS9102, AS9103, and AS9145 standards.
