CIB Agency Mortgage Backed Securities Trader, Vice President (MBS)

Salary: $225,000–$280,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Make markets and execute transactions across Agency MBS products, including TBAs, specified pools, pass-through securities, and related mortgage products.
• Manage trading positions, market, basis, convexity, prepayment, valuation, and daily profit-and-loss risks within approved limits.
• Price securities and evaluate relative-value opportunities using mortgage analytics, market data, yield and spread analysis, and option-adjusted spread analysis.
• Develop hedging strategies using U.S. Treasury securities, futures, swaps, options, and other instruments.
• Monitor interest rates, Federal Reserve activity, housing-market trends, mortgage origination, macroeconomic developments, and regulatory changes.
• Generate trade ideas, support institutional clients, collaborate with Sales, Research, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Finance, and Technology, and improve trading and risk-management infrastructure.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of mortgage markets and Agency MBS products.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, pricing, and trading decision-making capabilities.
• Experience with market risk, basis risk, convexity risk, prepayment exposure, hedging, and profit-and-loss management.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, risk-controlled environment and comply with applicable laws, regulations, firm policies, and market-conduct standards.
• Ability to maintain accurate position, risk, valuation, and profit-and-loss records and investigate discrepancies.
• Ability to provide guidance and technical support to junior traders, analysts, and other team members.
