Test & Development Engineering Intern (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: Orrville, Ohio, United States; onsite work across office, field, and production environments

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Design, model, and test mechanical systems and vehicle components.
• Research and implement continuous improvements supporting manufacturing, supply chain, operations, and customer feedback.
• Prepare, revise, and review vehicle component layouts using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric.
• Create engineering change notices and update bills of materials in PLM and PDM systems.
• Support prototype, pilot, and production builds on the assembly floor and provide technical assistance.
• Perform engineering calculations and assist with testing complete vehicles and components.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to perform office, field, and production-floor duties, including walking, standing, moderate lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise.
• Some positions may require compliance with U.S. export-control regulations and U.S. Person eligibility.

Nice to have

• Internship or other work experience.
• Mechanical design experience or strong interest in mechanical design.
• Experience with Creo Parametric, Pro/ENGINEER, CATIA, or similar CAD systems.
• Knowledge of steel and sheet metal fabrication principles.
• Knowledge of the construction industry and related equipment, or participation in extracurricular engineering activities such as SAE teams.
