I&E Turnaround Planner

Location: Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, United States; onsite role

What you will do

• Plan instrumentation and electrical work for plant shutdowns, outages, and turnarounds.
• Convert approved scope into detailed work packages covering prerequisites, labor, materials, permits, testing, sequencing, and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct field walk-downs and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Warehouse, contractors, and turnaround teams.
• Support schedule development, resource loading, contractor bid packages, material readiness, and execution planning.
• Support field execution, emergent planning, system completion, commissioning, turnover, and return-to-service activities.
• Close work orders, update WMIS records, capture execution feedback, and participate in post-turnaround lessons learned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or Controls Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field with two years of relevant industry experience; or an equivalent qualified I&E trade professional with at least five years of industrial I&E maintenance experience.
• Experience with industrial instrumentation, controls, analyzers, electrical distribution equipment, motors, protective devices, calibration, testing, commissioning, and safe work practices.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, one-line diagrams, logic narratives, cause-and-effect documents, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
• Experience with labor estimating, contractor coordination, resource planning, material management, schedule logic, system turnover, and turnaround execution sequencing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and WMIS, SAP, or an equivalent maintenance management system.
• Ability to perform field walk-downs, climb towers, enter confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and manage multiple priorities.
