IM&E Specialist (Industrial Instrumentation & Electrical Controls)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States; onsite at Baltimore and OM sites.

Salary: $48.65 per hour plus a 10% bonus target.

What you will do

• Maintain, inspect, test, repair, and calibrate electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and computerized control systems.
• Install and program electronic instruments, sensing elements, wiring, tubing, fittings, and programmable controllers.
• Diagnose and repair PLC programs, control circuitry, power supply circuits, motors, transformers, circuit breakers, and high-voltage switchgear.
• Operate and monitor boilers, chillers, steam and chilled-water systems, generators, and ancillary equipment.
• Create and maintain system schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, work orders, and maintenance records.
• Support start-up activities for new installations and respond to customer or plant equipment issues.

Requirements

• Technical or trade school degree in electronics, computer science, or equivalent industry training and experience.
• At least 4 years of progressive technician experience in central plants, power generation, or process plants.
• Ability to write and troubleshoot PLC logic using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagrams.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, control-logic optimization, system updates, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, climb to heights of up to 100 feet, tolerate industrial heat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of electrical safety and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures.
• Familiarity with refrigeration, thermodynamics, process flow diagrams, and control and instrumentation diagrams.
• Experience troubleshooting cogeneration plant instrumentation, controls, and electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience using multimeters, dead weight testers, combustion analyzers, frequency generators, and counters.
