Software Engineer Advisor (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; the position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States.

Salary: $8,007.29–$18,149.85 per month, with ranges varying by state.

What you will do

• Lead the concept design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of complex software programs and new products.
• Coordinate work across the full software development life cycle.
• Build and deploy LLM applications, autonomous agents, and production evaluation pipelines.
• Develop high-throughput Java and Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs on Google Cloud.
• Integrate AI agents with Microsoft Teams, Slack, ERP, and CRM platforms.
• Coach colleagues in less senior positions and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent formal education.
• At least four years of qualifying experience in an information technology or engineering environment.
• Experience with LLM applications, autonomous agents, deterministic tool calling, structured JSON outputs, Advanced RAG, vector databases, semantic reranking, and hybrid search.
• Strong experience with GCP, including Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, IAM, Workload Identity, and Secret Manager.
• Strong modern Java development experience with Java 17/21+, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with React or Angular and migration of legacy .NET or Java architectures to cloud environments.
• Experience optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures to reduce cloud database costs.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Machine Learning Engineer certification.
